| Detective Sergeant Bernie Jones has 27 years service in Merseyside Police in a variety of roles. In 1999 he was appointed Force Drug Co-ordinator; acting as a focal point for the development of partnership work with local agencies and members of the Force on drug related issues. He has produced a booklet for operational officers concerning the policing of potential Cannabis Cafes and a guide on best practice in the examination of cannabis cultivation scenes.
His work with the Merseyside Drug and Alcohol Action Teams lead to the development of the 'Kick it - Kick off' scheme in the spring of 2000. Bernie helps run St. Georges Junior Football Club in Maghull where he is the appointed FA Welfare Officer and managers and coaches an Under 9’s team.
