Superintendent, Nottinghamshire Police

David has 24 years service in the police service. Since 1995 he has been directly involved in establishing projects with the Drug and Alcohol Action Teams and has been instrumental in the development of the force’s Youth Crime Strategy and multi agency Youth Offending Teams in the county. He was the first senior police officer seconded to the Youth Justice Board for England and Wales as a policy advisor.

On his return to Nottinghamshire Police, David led on developing the Sherwood project, an adult multi agency prolific offender management project – that has become the delivery framework for the Government’s prolific and other priority offender strategy.

Following a secondment to Nottingham City DAAT David was promoted to Superintendent and now heads the Drugs Directorate, whilst retaining a key role in the Sherwood project.

Currently, David, along with police and Nottingham City DAAT colleagues is developing with city centre churches the ‘Aspire Drug Mentoring Project’ to link drug users who access the Churches out - reach food provision programmes into drug treatment.
